Point of View

These eyes of mine still sometimes view,
this world in shades of muted hues-
clouded in hopes and colored in truths.

So I try to wake and clear
these eyes of mine, the clouds so dear
to coax my heart to not yield or hear
the voices of my deepest fear.

Each and every breath
we have left

Each intake of air
is a responsibility-
powering possibilities,
encouraging tranquility,
enabling our capability
to recognize the futility
of speaking to those who don’t care
about the thoughts we share,
the words we pass on and over the air,
we recognize it isn’t fair,
but that’s the truth that life would have us bear.

Stay strong, believe.
Fight for the things you may not see,
but you know, somehow deep down, should be.
Stay open to the world of possibility.
Remind yourself that problems are often defeated by creativity.
And just remember
to breathe.

Allergic to the ‘E’ Challenge Accepted

Yes, it’s really me.  I haven’t disappeared, I’ve just been a little busy.  🙂

Forever Shannon nominated my blog for a writing challenge, and while I wrote the piece right away, I haven’t had the opportunity to post it until tonight.  So what is this challenge you say?  Here are the rules:

Write a paragraph without any word containing the letter “e”.
By reading this, you are already signed up.
Select at least 5 bloggers to do this challenge. They must complete it within 24 hours or else it is considered as failure. (But you should still try it either way 🙂
If you fail or pass, suffer in the Page of Lame.
If you win, wallow in the Page of Fame.

Here are the bloggers I chose.  I thought I’d try to get writers of all sorts of blogs involved in the fun:

And finally, here is my attempt to write without using the letter ‘E’:

I can’t think of anything so painful as trying to say things without aid from a solitary individual part of a word, an important tidbit in particular. You know, that tiny bit that forms sounds within a word. Without it, it is most difficult to say your thoughts. I doubt this paragraph will say anything without it actually. It was worth a try though.

Thank you again to Forever Shannon for the nomination (to an extremely tough challenge). I encourage everyone to check out her blog at https://forevershannon.wordpress.com.
