A Year Ago Today….

How quickly time passes, always racing to the next and new adventures waiting ahead. It’s hard to believe but a year ago today I started this little blog. A year ago today I decided to take, at least for me, a courageous leap of faith and put my words online. The response I received was more positive and powerful than I could have imagined. Since then I’ve been pushing myself to move out of my comfort zones in other areas and my life is truly changing in amazing ways. Thank you to all those readers out there who have stopped by my blog once or twice, or have left a few kind words under a post. You all are amazing. I look forward to sharing another year with you all!

A Thousand Times We Pause…

The Ripple's Edge

Gratitude and memory
may never be enough
to thank you for your courage,
your strength, your service, your love.
A thousand times we pause
and still
our silence can’t repay
the sacrifice of futures
for our freedoms on this day.
Today we pause-
to lend our hearts to you,
our thoughts reach back in time.
May you somehow hear
our whispers of gratitude.

Dedicated to all those who have served and those who currently serve to encourage justice, peace, and human rights for all. It is dedicated to those who stand up for life and liberty, and who continue to allow us the chance to pursue our own kind of happiness.

May you all have a healthy, happy, and safe weekend.

Winds of Change

The winds of change have visited
bringing even more uncertainty,
save for the sole thought
that I’m right where I’m supposed to be.
Independence has stoked a fire
that has given birth to hungry flames,
that awaken forgotten ideas and dreams,
encouraging them to reclaim
their place along this journey,
taking everything in stride.
Learning as I move along
down this trail without a guide.
