You flood me with light and boundless energy
and pour strength from an unknown
invisible source into my veins,
my heart.
It surges through me,
a confidence,
to break barriers, move mountains…

But, I guess, like me
you’ve been filled with such ambition
that one place
can’t hold you long…
and in that flash that you inspired,
the embers of me you coaxed into fire,
soon cool and both
are gone,
’till the next time you pass
by the path I walk on.

  1. This is beautiful, Kati. I find myself relating to this poem quite a lot; it’s wonderful how sometimes other people can put my own thoughts into words better than I can. 🙂

    • Thank you Britta! I never know when a writing mood might strike me, so I’m glad you enjoyed this unplanned poem! 🙂
I know exactly what you mean. A lot of the time I have something I want to say and while my brain works away at the right phrasing of it someone else effortlessly describes what I was trying to say!
