Winter’s Arrival

I was going to put this poem up until I realized I already had….so I wrote a new one this morning.  I hope you enjoy!

Shy autumn has blushed herself bare.
The heat from her flush
flees from the air,
and through the bite of the breeze
we are all made aware
of a new bolder season,
so ready yourself and prepare,
for winter’s deep freeze,
her winter white snare,
that will have you yearning
for a place
near a warm fire’s glare,
with a cup of hot chocolate,
in a big comfy chair,
and the time to slow down,
the time to show we care
to the one’s who are always,
and will always be there.
